Last week, we embarked on our first North American festival exhibition, attending the The International Music & Festival Conference or IMFCON in Austin, Texas. What started out with a hellish 24-hours in transit including lost luggage and 'airport issues' (don't ask), went on to become a successful trip, full of networking, interesting people and...pickle shots!

The Association of Independent Music's annual soiree, The AIM Awards returns this month to celebrate the achievements and contributions of some of the industry's most influential and prolific labels, artists and industry professionals.

And, to show our support for such a great company, we've donated a set of custom printed laminate passes and lanyards to identify press during the event.

ID&C collaborated with leading RFID technology provider Intellitix and Sparklestreet events to power twelve private parties during the London 2012 Games as part of "Adidas Underground".

ID&C supplied RFID wristbands and RFID-enabled cards, which with Intellitix's platform, helped create an online audience of 2 million when ticket holders linked their wristbands to their Facebook profiles. Using custom-designed reader units around the venue, guests could tap their RFID wristbands to automate Facebook check-ins and even post photos directly to their time line. The event also featured a contact-less access control system and saw ID&C's RFID cards used to buy drinks from a cashless bar.

Speaking to a selection of the event industry's leading companies, the feature covered everything event organisers should consider when embarking on a new festival. Safety, ticketing, staging and promotion were some of the topics covered, with ID&C giving their advice on access control.

Security wristband and accreditation specialists ID&C are set to showcase their latest products at this year's Live UK Summit. The annual live event gathering takes place at the Raddison Blu Portman Hotel, London, next Wed's and Thurs the 5th and 6th of October.

ID&C presence at such a prestigious event will yet again instate themselves as leaders in their field across the two-day event. The event is expected to attract over 300 industry bods and will include speakers from leading companies AEG, MAMA Group as well as John Giddings from Solo, the guys behind the Isle of Wight Festival. Conference panels this year include such trending topics as the future of ticketing, PRS and enhanced branding at events.
